The Velvet Queen in official selection at the Cannes Film Festival 2021

An expedition to the farthest reaches of the world to show the beauty of the Earth” in its world premiere at Cannes!

Well beyond the codes of the expedition film genre, Marie Amiguet sets her camera on the Tibetan highlands in the company of wildlife photographer Vincent Munier and the adventurous writer Sylvain Tesson who evoked the adventure in his book “La Panthère des Neiges”, Prix Renaudot 2019. Will they succeed in spotting the feline? In the capture of the waiting, the seizure of the silence, the unfolding of the days and the strength of nature, arises an evidence: that of the beauty of the world.

Paprika Films and Galatée Films are working together to produce A Wolf’s Journey

Paprika Films and Galatée Films are working together to produce A Wolf’s Journey.

Cast out by his pack, a young wolf has to face his destiny alone and try to survive in a world where man reigns as absolute master. His search for a new territory, a new pack and a new family, take him from the forests of Romania to the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean.

This is the incredible story of Slava, the wolf.

This documentary, produced by Vincent Steiger, which is based on real events, makes us think about the future of the wolf but, even more, about the relationship our society has with “the wild”.

Antarctica, shivers in Confluence (Lyon)

The Antarctic, due to its inaccessibility, is one of the rare zones on the planet that has been preserved from human footprint, and only a few scientific scholars and explorers have adventured onto these lands where there are neither indigenous inhabitants, citizens, nor armed forces.

After his Oscar-winning documentary March of the Penguins, Luc Jacquet heads back to the colonies of emperor penguins and the lands he left behind 10 years before, this time in the company of a new and talented team. Artists in the South Pole, that’s the challenge of this new extreme expedition, focussed on this ecosystem and these fast changing landscapes. Accessing this exceptional place and understanding the challenges linked to its preservation is difficult to imagine from the comfort of our modern world.

There is also the “Antarctica” exhibition. Photographic and cinematographic artists, in particular Vincent Munier (photographer of wide open spaces and extreme traveller) and Laurent Ballesta (diver and deep see nature photographer) are going to try to reduce the 16 000 km that separate us from these grandiose blue and white lands.

As of Tuesday 26 April, at the Musée des Confluences in Lyon, you can visit the exhibition, discover the artists’ exceptional images from the heart of the Antarctic and have a very cooling experience, thanks to the exhibition’s immersive mechanism!

Dates: from 26 April to 31 December 2016
Exhibition: Antarctica
Exhibition curatorship: Luc Jacquet
Featured artists: Vincent Munier and Laurent Ballesta
Location: Musée des Confluences in Lyon – 86 quai Perrache – 69002 LYON

Associated projects: Antarctic Expedition
Antarctica, In the steps of the emperor penguin, one-off documentary 90’ and Living in the Antarctic one-off documentary 52′
Pre-purchased by Arte, the documentary In the steps of the emperor penguin will tell the story of day to day life during the expedition for the two nature photographers, Vincent Munier and Laurent Ballesta.
